About The Actor’s Handbook

From 1987 until 1999, The Actor’s Handbook was the book which every actor in Seattle needed to find work and orient themselves to the show biz scene.  Unfortunately, the internet revolution made it impossible to continue publication since much of the material was already available  on various websites.

However, what was not available were lists of experienced, ethical, vetted teachers and studios-the old Chapter 2 the Actor’s Craft.  At the request of Ellen McLain and others, it became clear to me that there was still a need for Chapter 2 now called Education, which has been completely updated.

Chapter 2 has been our priority, we felt it was best to post a part of The Actor’s Handbook and then hopefully the news would spread and potential listees would contact us either by email or snail mail.  Chapter 4-Youth Theatre, has not been updated, but will be compete by the fall of 2009.

Many chapters, Chapter 1-Theatre, and Chapter 3-Commercial Actor refer people to websites containing the information they need.

Please look at the Contact Us chapter for forms to fill out, as well as email and snail mail addresses. We are particularly requesting information about performance and rehearsal space.
