The Seattle Film Institute, founded in 1994, offers the largest film program in the Northwest.  SFI provides a variety of hands-on classes:

  • The Teen Filmmakers Program is a summer filmmaking program for ages 13-18 where students acquire skills in film and video production.  The class is a 2 week long, Monday through Friday intensive which culminates with students completing a final project video.  Topics of the intensive include lighting, camera, composition and editing.

  • Advanced Filmmakers for Teens is for youth ages 13-18 who have completed the Summer Teen Program or have previous video experience.  Students build on skills they acquired in the previous program by either working on a large collaborative class project or small group project culminating in a screening and a DVD copy of the work.
