On December 6, at 1:30 pm at the International House at Cascadia University, Polyglot Players will host a Multilingual Christmas Sing-a-long. Songs will be m French, German, and Spanish and will be accompanied on the guitar by Marie Rubin, who will also pass out the words and teach the songs. Refreshments and Christmas decorations will be available at La Tendilla Española, der Weihnachtsmarkt, and La Table de Noël (Spanish, German, and French booths, respectively).

Begun in 2001 by two actresses with international backgrounds, Polyglot Players produces language-teaching fairy tales for school children in French, German, and Spanish. Currently, Polyglots is touring Seattle Area schools with Goldilocks & the Three Bears and The Three Little Pigs in French, German, & Spanish.

According to Ellen Taft, artistic director and a former language teacher, music is the best way to learn and reinforce foreign languages. “We strive to make language learning a fun and positive experience for the student. We see the Christmas sing-a-long as an ‘outreach’ program to teach people about the folk traditions of different countries through song."
