Opened since 2011 in the hip Fremont neighborhood, Hotel Hotel features minimalist styling (bare brick walls, white Victorian-style tiling and a slate-grey colour scheme). HHH is a combination of different styles of accommodations from: “Hotel” private rooms with private bathrooms; European style private rooms that share bathrooms in the hallway; and European style shared dorm rooms with shared bathrooms in the hallway – a “hostel.”

This hostel has a fully equipped kitchen and a lovely TV room. HHH offers free wifi and breakfast.

Built in 1907, The Moore Hotel includes the famous Moore Theater, the longest running theater in Seattle. Two blocks from Pike Place Market.

The Moore’s 120 simply decorated rooms each feature a queen-sized bed. Some rooms have baths en suite baths; the others access bathrooms down the hall. The Moore does not have air condititioning, which might be a factor if plans include a stay there in July or August.

Community Activists founded the Carolyn Downs Family Medical Center in 1968. Other activists founded Country Doctor Community Clinic in 1971, and the clinics merged in 1988. These fully accredited clinics offer low-cost medical treatment on a sliding scale. Everyone is treated regardless of their ability to pay.

These clinics partnered the Swedish Medical Group to open the After-Hours Clinic in December 2013. This clinic serves patients with acute medical needs that required treatment before they could be seen by their regular health care providers and to provide an alternative to a costly emergency room visit.

Tacoma & Pierce County Community Health Care

Physicians and citizens seeking to bring quality health care to the county’s poorest and uninsured residents opened two community clinics in 1969. In 1987, Community Health Care left the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department to become a private, not-for-profit organization. This organization currently operates five medical and three dental clinics. A fourth dental clinic will open in the spring of 2017. Community Health Care’s services are available to all; those with insurance and those without. Those that do not have an insurance plan CHC accepts are billed according to the sliding fee scale.
