5th Avenue Theatre annually produces 8 to 9 productions of musical revivals, bound-for-Broadway premieres, and traveling children’s musicals for schools. The 5th Avenue has premiered 14 new musicals, nine of which have gone to Broadway, and two of which have earned Tony Awards for Best Musical (Hairspray, 2003 and Memphis, 2010).

  • The 5th Avenue Theatre’s extensive educational outreach programs include: The Adventure Musical Theatre Touring Company, The 5th Avenue High School Musical Theatre Awards, the Student Matinee Program, the Rising Star Project, Curtain Up! A Community Celebration of Musical Theater, and Spotlight Nights.
  • 5th Avenue Theatre is looking for actors who can sing and/or dance.
  • Visit the 5th Avenue Theatre audition webpage for up-to-date information.
  • 5th Avenue Theatre casts mainstage musicals by invitation and through company general auditions. To audition, send an email message and include a headshot and resume with a letter of intent to attend the general auditions.
  • 5th Avenue Theatre’s Adventure Musical Theatre Touring Company (AMT) performs for local K-8 schools and community centers. Usually, AMT shows are cast from the company general auditions; however, actors who sing and dance may send an email message and include a headshot and resume with a letter of intent to audition for AMT.
  • General video auditions are always accepted. See webpage for details.
  • Intern and child auditions are held on an as-needed basis.

Note: 5th Avenue Theatre welcomes and encourages auditions from people of all ethnic and cultural groups. Dedicated to nurturing talent and hiring locally, 5th Avenue Theatre encourages auditions from both Equity and Non-Equity singers, actors, and dancers. 5th Avenue Theatre operates under the Western Civic Light Opera Agreement.

Book-It’s Arts and Education Program tours original adaptations of novels for children, young adults and adults to schools and libraries throughout Washington. General auditions are held each year in early summer. Callbacks are held later in the summer or in early fall. Founded in 1992, Living Voices creates dynamic interactive multi-media performances to bring life to history. Using historical perspectives based on real people and events, the Living Voices technique combines live performance by a solo actor with video, audio, visual aids, and discussion.

Fern Renville, Managing Director.  Red Eagles Soaring Native Youth Theatre provides performing arts education and performance experience for Native youth ages 11-19.  Programming is integrated with traditional performing arts that define Native American culture, such as drumming, singing and storytelling.  RESNYT has a 2-week summer intensive and a touring spring play that travels thoughout the Northwest to tribal settings, schools and conferences.  Click Here for education information.

Contact Deirdre Hadlock, Production Stage Manager.  Bainbridge Performing Arts produces 5 or more plays each season.  Auditions are announced via Bainbridge Performing Arts and TPS websites as well as emails to subscribers.  Performances run 2 to 3 weekends with evening and afternoon commitments.  To audition, please prepare one 1-minute monologue and, if auditioning for the musicals, one 2-minute song.  If available, bring acting resume and headshot to your appointment.  Actors are not paid.  (See Community Theatre)
